Local Date Night Ideas

Reconnect with your partner

May 1, 2014

Here at Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid, I want to help you and your family make the most of your time together.  But we all know moms and dads need time to connect with each other, too - alone!  I’ve put together a few ideas for you, and will update the listings each month.  May weekends are packed with musicals from local high schools – and many of the listings are on the calendar!

So, call up the babysitter or drop the kids off at the Northwest Art Center FunTastic Friday or Sky Valley Academy’s Parent’s Night Out and enjoy a night out reconnecting with your partner!

 Duvall:

Match Coffee & Wine: Voted the winner for “Best Wine Bar” in the 2013 Best of Western Washington awards, Match offers live acoustic music every Friday and Saturday night from 7:30 – 10:00pm and a daily happy hour from 4-6pm. Grab a cozy spot on the couch by the fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine, tasty small plates or a great cup of coffee.

Carnation:

Blue Heron Bar & Grill: The Blue Heron may quickly become a new favorite (it’s one of mine!) for good food and beautiful views. Catch a game, enjoy prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights, and definitely plan on visiting them for apps and a beer on their enormous deck this summer!

Monroe:

Sockeye's Restaurant: Enjoy steak and seafood with an extensive wine list, plus lakefront views! If you can get away for a mid-week meal, take advantage of Sockeye's 3-course dinner special on Wednesday nights for less than $16!

Paula’s Wine Knot Beer & Wine Bar: Located in the old Monroe Slaughter House, Paula’s converted the 5,500 sq ft. building into a unique classy beer and wine bar, music venue and a gourmet specialty food store. Open Wednesday through Sunday, Paula’s hosts a variety of fun events each month like live rock bands, comedy nights, and Ladies Night Out. Check out the “events” tab on their Facebook page for the full lineup!

Adam’s Northwest Bistro: Opened in 2011, Chef Adam Hoffman brings local, seasonal and organic ingredients to Monroe. Dress up or dress down - the menu and atmosphere is certainly date-night worthy and is a great place to celebrate a special occasion, but still relaxed enough to order their signature burger and a beer. I recommend making a reservation, but if you do have to wait, just stop in at the neighboring Twin Rivers Brewing Company tasting room to sample their great beers!

Galaxy 12 Theater: Because what’s more classic than dinner and a movie?
