October 16, 2014
October means pumpkin season is here and the Cherry Valley area rocks harvest season in the Northwest!  No driving for you – some of the best pumpkin patches and farms around are within minutes.  Be sure to dress for the conditions and bring cash or check – most farms cannot accept credit cards.

Oxbow Farm & Education Center (Carnation): Open Thursday – Sunday in October 10am-5pm (12pm-5pm on Thursdays). No admission fee. Pick up pumpkins and produce and let the kids play in the “living playground”!

Jubilee Farm (Carnation): Open every weekend in October 10am-5pm. No admission.  Plenty of activities including tractor rides to the pumpkin and gourd fields, visit farm animals, hay maze, cooking demos, and pumpkin launching on the home-made trebuchet!

Remlinger Farms (Carnation): Open weekends in October 10am-6pm for the Fall Harvest Festival.  Enjoy over 25 rides and attractions for kids, plus u-pick pumpkins, corn maze and a farm market.  Admission $15-$17.

Two Brothers Pumpkin Patch (Carnation): This low-key, family owned farm has been in operation for over 25 years and features a great selection of pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn stalks and mini hay bales for decorating at home! No admission fee.  Open daily from October 3rd through the 31st, 9:30am – 6pm. The Stossel Bridge is closed near the farm, so plan to access from Highway 203 and follow the detour signs!

First Light Farm (Carnation): What do carrot poses (children's yoga), black beans and the sunflower express have to do with First Light Farm? Bring your family, neighborhood play group, pre-school or elementary school groups to First Light Farm to learn the different children's yoga poses that are related to vegetables, pick and harvest black beans (black turtle) to take home for soup, and take a ride on our Sunflower Express out to the u-pick pumpkin patch for your very own pumpkin! Open October 3rd-26th from 10:30am - 6pm.  Free admission.  Pumpkins range from $5-10 and s'mores and cider are available for puchase. The Stossel Bridge is closed near the farm, so plan to access from 124th to West Snoqualmie Valley Road and follow the detour signs!

Camp Korey (Carnation): Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day on the beautiful Camp Korey campus at our annual Fall Festival October 17th-19th from 10am-4pm each day. Along with family-friendly activities like hay rides and s’more making, visitors will have the chance to learn more about Camp Korey’s sustainable organic farming. Admission is free. The Stossel Bridge is closed near the farm, so plan to access from 124th to West Snoqualmie Valley Road and follow the detour signs!

Pun’kin Time (Fall City): Kids will get a kick out of the Richter Scale, a hand-built counterweight that calibrates your pumpkin price to the nearest dollar. Don’t miss the troll tree during your tractor ride! Open daily from 10am – 5pm through Halloween.
