5 Ways to Explore Cottage Lake Park

July 31, 2014

Cottage Lake Park, located between Duvall and Woodinville on Woodinville-Duvall Road, is fun year-round, but is an especially great place to recreate in the summer.  Here are five great ways to get the most out of this county gem:

1. Boating:  Whether you are into canoeing or kayaking or fishing, Cottage Lake is a beautiful lake to explore by boat.  Non-motorized boats are welcome and there is a boat launch for easy in and out.  My 2 year old daughter just took her first canoe ride on this lake and it was a great first experience on the calm water.

2. Swimming: The lake offers opportunities to wade and splash in the cool, clear water, or if you’re looking for a more formal setting, the YMCA operates a public swimming pool – complete with water slide - 6 days a week.

3. Biking or strolling: There are nice paved trails throughout the park to push a stroller or to enjoy a family bike ride.

4. Zipline: Northshore YMCA also operates the Odyssey Challenge Course at the park.  The high ropes course is open to the public on Friday evenings through August.

5. Run & Play: Cottage Lake Park offers all the traditional features of a park, as well, like a playground, basketball courts and large grassy areas for Frisbee or a game of catch. After a hard day of play, enjoy a picnic by the lake or under one of the reservable shelters.
