Meet Your Neighbors at National Night Out August 3rd

Community celebrations in Monroe, Sultan, and Snohomish (Aug 3rd)

July 29, 2021

For “National Night Out” (NNO), neighborhoods are encouraged to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for a crime and drug prevention event focused on making your town a safer place to live. National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday of August each year and it is a time for communities to come together, build relationships and stand united against crime.

National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by police and other non-profit service agencies in the community.  It involves over 16,540 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world. In all, over 38.1 million people are expected to participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime".

What can you expect at a National Night Out event?  Each event is unique, but all are family friendly and free.  Many events feature safety demonstrations, games, parades, children's activities such as face painting and bouncy houses, food, community resource exhibits, and the chance to meet local law enforcement officers.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
