Top 5 Reasons Why I Love Disney Vacations

By Melinda Larke Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid Publisher August 3, 2017

We are going to Disneyland! This isn’t our first time, but we are still really excited. In my house we love Disney, well at least myself and my kids; my husband just supports our habit. We do vacation other places, but we just keep returning to the Disney parks over and over again. I can sit here all day and write reason after reason why we keep returning, but I thought I would spare you and just give you my top 5 reasons why I love Disney vacations.

1.    The Disney “Bubble” – Adulting is hard and even being a kid can be stressful today. The world and its problems can bog you down, stress you out, and teach your kids things they shouldn’t yet be learning. Then you walk into that Disney “bubble” and you can escape from it all. Not only do not have to worry about your personal stressors, you also don’t have to worry about your kids. You don’t have to be one step ahead, wondering what they may accidently see or come across. You walk into a world of happiness, helpfulness, and some good old fashioned fun. A lot of fun!
2.    The Disney Connection – We all have our ways of bonding with the important people in our lives, we want that connection. Disney is how I have bonded with my kids, some family members and friends. We go to the movies together, we watch the TV shows together, and we plan and go on the vacations together. And they love it also. My hope with my kids is through those tough teenage years we will still have that Disney bond; they will still want to see the movies with me and go to the parks with me. I suspect they will. It is something to keep us connected to each other no matter what else is going on in our lives.

3.    Disney really takes care of you – I am not just talking about their great customer service but the fact that they think of every little thing so you can enjoy your vacation. A lot of times Mom gets the short end of the stick on vacation. She still has to cook, clean, deal with fighting kids, etc. but just in a different location. Going to Disney means I don’t have to cook, they have some awesome restaurants with many choices. They offer a package delivery service in the parks so you don’t have to carry around your purchases all day. They have photographers all over the parks ready to take your picture, nobody gets left out of the photo and the photographers are pretty good at getting everyone to smile. Cast members have also been known to help if the kids are fighting; balloons and light up toys do wonders. There are many more to list, just know that they are always thinking of new ways to take care of you.
4.     The magic – The place truly is magical! It is a feeling that you get just walking around, the music you hear all around the parks, and that look on your child’s face when they meet their Disney hero. The magic is in the way Disney can transport you into their movies while you are on a ride, transport you into a different time just as you are walking down a path in Adventureland, or take you into a completely new world, so excited for Star Wars Land! Fireworks every night, adults acting like kids again, teenagers putting down their phones and hanging with their families, strangers helping strangers, and smiles all around, it is all magical.

5.    It’s fun – Simple, but true. It is really hard not to have fun on a Disney vacation. There are thrill rides for thrill seekers, calmer rides for the non- thrill seekers, parades, shows, and all of your favorite Disney characters.
