Top 5 Parks

In the Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid area

By Melinda Larke - Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid Pubisher April 26, 2018

The sun is out and things are warming up a bit.  The only thing my kids think about is going to a park and playing.  They beg and beg and of course I give in because it is free, fun, and gets all their what seems like endless energy out! Win, win, and win!  We have so many great parks in our little neck of the woods; little neighborhood parks to large county parks.  Here is my list of the top five parks in the Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid area!

1. Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation - Voted best park in our 2018 Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid Gold Daisy Awards, this 574 acre park in a big one!  It has walking/hiking trails, river access, a suspension bridge across the river, and a fantastic place to be in, play in, and watch nature.  It also has camping facilities if you would like to stay a few days!

2. Lake Tye Park in Monroe - This 64 acres park is a favorite for those living in and around Monroe.  Lake Tye has a 1.5 mile walking trail around it as well as a fantastic beach to build sand castles.  Have a canoe or kayak?  Lake Tye has a boat launch.  The children's playground was recently renovated and got a double thumbs up from children and parents.

3. Cottage Lake Park in Woodinville - So many activities can be found at this park!  Boating, a swimming pool,  a zip line, walking and biking trails, and play areas for children and sports. You will not be bored.  The pool sand zip line are run by the Northshore YMCA and are open seasonally.

4.  Taylor Park in Duvall - A fun community park with access to a playground, basketball court, and walking trails.  You can even walk down to a small creek and be one with nature.

5. Skykomish River Park in Monroe - I personally love this park for two reasons, it is never crowded and it is wide and open.  You can sit in one part and see your child anywhere in the park; even as they ride on the bike trails.  The city is currently renovating the playground and it is planned to reopen by early summer!
