School is starting soon and that means back to school shopping. That means a new backpack, lunch box, school supplies, and new clothes. All of that can get really expensive; even with all the back to school sales. If you need help with all of this there are many community resources out there ready, willing, and able to get your kids all ready to head back to school this year!
🏫 Sky Valley Food Bank - Backpacks with school supplies will handed out during normal business hours starting August 19. Parents must provide proof of residence within the Monroe School District and be able to verify their child's birthdate.
🏫 God's Closet - Monroe - God's Closet- Monroe will be having a "Free Shop Day" on Sunday August 18th at 3:00 - 5:00 PM or while supplies last. Simply show up at the Seventh-day Adventist Church (14118 Chain Lake Rd. in Monroe) on SUNDAY, AUGUST 12, 2018, pay $1 as an entrance fee (the $1 is per family, not per person) they will provide you with the shopping bags, (no need to bring your own) and then YOU shop for FREE. Shopping at GC is similar to shopping at a regular store. For your convenience all clothes are sorted by size and gender. No documentation is needed to shop and if you have any clothes your kids no longer can wear please feel free to bring them with you and donate to God's Closet! 🏫 Hopelink -- School supplies distribution days will be held various days. See here for times. To qualify for assistance your children must be entering grades K-12, your children must attend school within Lake Washington, Riverview, Skykomish or Snoqualmie Valley School Districts, and you must meet the household income criteria. Meet all the criteria? You must first register as a hopelink food bank client. This requires a short appointment, please call ahead to schedule. 🏫 Gold Bar Back to School Fair - August 17th 9:00am-12:00pm - Its time for our annual Back to School Fair for the students of Gold Bar, Index and Skykomish Schools! Come and get your free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, new socks and underwear, water bottles, lunch boxes, gently used clothing and more!
