Teatro ZinZanni Comes to Woodinville

The Woodinville wine district has a new neighbor; pairing perfectly with wine and fun!  Teatro ZinZanni has moved from its long-time location near the Seattle Center to its new world headquarters in Woodinville. Part circus, part cabaret, part improv, and all unique; it is the perfect date night or girl’s night out. Teatro ZinZanni invited myself and a guest to experience this spectacular show.  Date night!  My husband wasn’t sure he wanted to go as it is way out of his comfort zone and not really his thing.  I am the fun one in the relationship! A few days before the big night he decided to give it a go; date night was on!

The show was scheduled to start at 7:00pm with the doors opening at 6:00pm.  I had been to this location when it was Red Hook brewery, so I was very interested in the transformation.  Driving into a very dark parking lot it is a little confusing at first but then you turn the corner and see the lights and spectacular tent that houses the show they even had a red carpet leading up to the door.  It feels so fancy and exciting. (We don’t get out much.) Parking was free and plentiful; a nice perk of being out in Woodinville and away from the city.  We were greeted at the door by a gentleman in a crazy sports coat, top hat, cane, and some awesome looking boots; he was ready for a fun night and he was not the only one. While the servers and performers are dressed for their part, the show patrons are also ready for some fun!  Fancy hats, boas, big shiny jewelry; it makes the night more fun and magical!

We were shown to our seat and had some time to really take in the scenery.  The dinning area was setup to look like an old saloon, complete with wood barrels and actors in plaid looking for Bigfoot.  An appetizer was already at our table when we were seated; a perfect way to start the evening.   During the time we were waiting for the show to begin our drink and dinner orders were taken.  They had three different main course options all of which looked fantastic.  The dinning room is small and intimate, I sat there wondering where the space was for the performers?  It wasn’t long before I got my answer.  All over!

At about 7:30 they started the show!  Teatro ZinZanni runs about three different shows per year, this one is called Hollywood and Vine and is a play on the Hollywood District in Woodinville. Genius!  Three sisters from New Jersey travel to what they are thinking is going to be Hollywood, CA and end up in Woodinville instead for one chaotic, hilarious, fun filled night!  Check out this video for snippets from the show!

At the end of the night I asked my husband what he thought.  Would he go back again?  He really enjoyed the show, the food and would go back again if given the chance! We both were amazed by the acrobatics, had faces hurting from laughing so much, and thoroughly enjoyed our night out. This show is best enjoyed by adults; it is three hours long, has a risqué script, and can be overstimulating with the loud music, bright lights, and movement all around you.  More information about schedules, tickets, and more can be found on their website.  Tickets to a show or a gift card make a great gift!

Teatro ZinZanni provided tickets for me to come watch the show in exchange for this review.  All opinions are my own.
