Zoo for All: Celebrating All Abilities

By Woodland Park Zoo June 27, 2019

Everyone is invited to Zoo for All: Celebrating All Abilities on July 2, a day filled with fun, accessible events and programming to celebrate those with special needs as well as their families.

There’s so much to explore on this day at Woodland Park Zoo! Visit our Mobile Zoo to meet adorable ambassador animals, and attend animal keeper talks with ASL interpreters (so everyone can learn about animals  like our baby giraffe Hasani!) Visit the Seattle Sensory Garden located inside the zoo’s Rose Garden, for sights, smells and sounds designed for those with and without disabilities to enjoy. Find sensory tools at both entrances, or explore the new additions  to the sensory toolbox at Zoomazium. Speaking of Zoomazium, check out the Zoomazium social story and follow along to join in the fun! There’s also a Sensory Map to help guide guests with different sensory needs to parts of the zoo where they can relax, romp or explore.

Zoo for All: Celebrating All Abilities is part of Zoo for All, a series of events at Woodland Park Zoo that aim to include people from all cultures, backgrounds, and abilities, so that everyone can be inspired to take action and help save wildlife!

Zoo for All events are free with zoo admission or membership. For more information, go to https://www.zoo.org/visit.
