Explore the Valley - The Duvall Library

By Melinda Larke - Cherry Valley Macaroni Kid October 31, 2019

I am excited to be starting a new article and video series on our home towns; Explore the Valley!  The places we live, work, play, and raise our children.  Each month we will explore a different place in the valley.  Places you may have been to once or several times, places you have been meaning to go, and places you may have never even heard of.  My hope is that you will find some new places in your own backyard, rediscover an old favorite, and share them with your family and neighbors.

Summer has officially left and in has come the rain and cold.  What do you do with your littles when outside isn't an option (unless they want to jump in puddles), you go to your local library.  It is not just about books anymore!  Come with me as we discover what fun all of the family can have at the Duvall Library.

The Duvall Library is part of the King County Library System and has some great ways to have some family fun.

  • Story time - The Duvall Library has so many different kinds of story times through out the week.  You can find the best one for you family on our event calendar.  Story time is not only educational but fun and a great way for both kids and caregivers to find some new friends.
  • Kids and teen classes - Not only do they have story time for babies to preschoolers, the Duvall Library also has classes for kids, teens, and adults.  From science to arts and crafts to adult book clubs, their is something for everyone.
  • Play/Reading area - The Duvall Library has a great kids area that appeals to kids of all ages.  They have some really comfy places to sit and read a book either alone or with an adult.  There is a computer area just for the littles and some great books to open up so many new worlds.  I love how the books in the kids area are orgaized by theme; easy for the littles to find their favorites.
  • Quiet study areas - There is a whole room with tables for everyone to get some quiet and get some good work done.

There is so much more that you can do at the Duvall Library. They have public access computers, a copy machines, and of course all the books.  Don't leave without checking out all the fantastic books and taking some home with you.
