This week our Friday Funday was at Galaxy Theatres in Monroe. Now, I have to start off by saying, this was not the plan for the day. We tried going somewhere else and they were full for the time we were there. Since most places are only allowed to have 25% capacity, things can fill up pretty quickly. Lesson learned and like we have been doing this whole past year, we just simply pivoted. I knew the movie theatre had opened so I just happened to take a look at what was playing and what did I find? They were playing three different $1.00 movies! We decided to go see Hidden Figures and experience the reopened Galaxy Theatres! To say that I was excited was an understatement. I was soooo excited to finally be back at a movie theatre.
Galaxy Theatres in Monroe is a small town theatre that I love because it is usually not very packed, they have some great deals like $1.00 movies and pre-pandemic they did $5.00 movie days every Tuesday (Great Mom's Night Out,) and the employees are always wonderful. Going to a movie there is always an easy and fun experience.
Right now they have a couple of options for you to come to see a movie. You can either come as you normally had, either buying tickets online or at the theatre. On their website, they do tell you how many tickets are left, which is very nice for planning purposes. Or you can rent out a theatre for you and your friends, starting at $99.00. Let's talk safety. Galaxy Theatres is taking safety seriously and I felt like they were doing a great job while we were there. Capacity in the theatres themselves is greatly reduced, masks are required for entry, and they are making sure to clean high-touch places multiple times per day. Overall, we had a great time! Just being able to go back and have the experience was fantastic. As of this weekend, they are still playing some $1.00 movies, if you can't make it this weekend, keep checking. I know that we will be back very soon!
