Hillside Academy is a Private Christian School (18 months - 8th grade) with a mission to build future innovators by emphasizing academics, problem solving, creativity, social skills and, faith & character development. We use a STEAM based curriculum to provide students with a core academic foundation to prepare them for the next level in their education using the philosophy that one size does not fit all. Hillside’s play-based preschool program, with targeted learning objectives, gives preschoolers the start they need as they enter into kindergarten; our kindergarten and elementary curriculum builds on this foundation by engaging students in hands-on learning so that by middle school students are focusing on real-life applications of the knowledge and the skills they have learned. Our middle school curriculum prepares students to excel in high school and beyond. Our STEAM based curriculum is integrated into an interdisciplinary, hands-on learning approach with a variety of specialized programs including fine arts and music. Hillside students are encouraged to become global citizens by focusing on the development of some key principles in their personal development; how we interact with those around us, showing appreciation for those in our community and expanding our world view so we recognize all we have to be thankful for and how we can use our resources to help those in need. Hillside strives to make our classrooms safe places where students can push past their comfort zones, talk freely about their ideas while accepting and learning from their mistakes.
Business Review
“Thank you so much for an amazing kindergarten and preschool experience. She truly looked forward to each day and loved going to school at Hillside." Alumni Parent
"As a kindergarten teacher, I can clearly see how better prepared the students from Hillside’s preK are compared to students from other preschools. Hillside’s preschool programs offer a balance of play and age-appropriate curriculum that encourages students to use their natural curiosity and imagination to develop confidence in their physical, social, and academic abilities, as well as to cultivate a love of learning. This whole-child approach gives Hillside’s preschool students the foundation needed to be successful in not just their kindergarten year, but for their entire life-long educational journey."
